Greet Me With A Seed

Project Overview

The Ntumedise Ka Peo (Greet Me With A Seed) Dialogues project is an innovative initiative that harnesses the power of agriculture and shared meals to engage in critical dialogues on major social issues. This unique framework creates exchanges around sensitive topics such as gender-based violence (GBV), child trafficking, mental health, and well-being. These dialogues aim to promote social justice by involving key stakeholders and fostering deep discussions within communities.

Climate Change and Health Vulnerability

Approach and Methodology

The Ntumedise Ka Peo Dialogues rely on an inclusive and participatory format, bringing together various stakeholders from local communities:

  • Champions and community mentors: Local leaders and mentors are invited to share their experiences in combating violence and discrimination.

  • Collaborative sessions: Each dialogue is designed to allow the community to reflect together on practical strategies to address gender-based violence, child trafficking, and improve mental health.

  • Sharing a meal: Sharing food helps break down barriers and strengthen bonds between participants, encouraging more open and constructive exchanges

Topics of discussion

  • Gender-Based Violence (GBV): Powerful testimonies about the impact of violence against women and girls, accompanied by discussions on how to strengthen community resilience.

  • Child Trafficking: Analysis of the root causes and identification of community strategies to protect children.

  • Mental Health and Well-being: Discussions on how trauma related to these forms of violence affects mental health, with a focus on access to care and psychological support.

  • Climate Change and Health: Exploration of the impacts of climate change on the health of rural communities, particularly on women and children, and how agriculture can play a role in mitigating these effects.
